ACT on Alzheimer’s and Dementia Friends Minnesota
ACT on Alzheimer’s is a statewide, multi-dimensional collaboration seeking large-scale social change and building community capacity to help drive Minnesota’s response to Alzheimer’s disease. ACT on Alzheimer’s fosters collective ownership and accountability while working to achieve overall goals.
As part of the ACT on Alzheimer’s collaboration, leaders have trained more than 20,000 Dementia Friends in Minnesota. In a one-hour information session, people learn five key messages about dementia. Dementia Friends are prepared to take practical action that can help family members, friends and neighbors support people living with dementia in the community.
