The Remember Project offers workshops to strengthen the planning and design skills for those who want to use the arts to meet their service goals. Our workshops are created specifically for those who work or volunteer in the field of aging.
Explore YOUR creativity and develop your use of the arts for providing services to your clients by participating in an upcoming professional development program.
Far too often, incorporating the arts into reaching service goals can feel mysterious, alienating or even cumbersome to those who have not had this training or experience. The Arts & Aging workshops created by The Remember Project team offer an experiential learning process in a distance-learning format.
The program is built around six different learning modules, each covering a different arts area and incorporating different types of facilitation models.
Those who participate in the program will develop an understanding of HOW to use the arts in reaching their own service goals. This is accomplished by building awareness and competence in the arts through a combination of hands-on learning, reflecting and conversation.
Each learning module includes pre-work, a Zoom meeting and reflection:
- Recorded videos and print material to introduce and demonstrate the topic
- Instructions for individual exploratory learning on the topic
- Zoom meeting for a cohort of learners to come together, discuss their experience, and brainstorm
- A reflection activity to wrap up the module
- TOPICS are – theatre, music & memory, 2-D and 3-D visual art, storytelling and creative movement
- At the end of the program, participants will create an action plan for future arts-based programming in their community or organization.
